Celebration of 14th August at Quetta

I was at quetta on 14th august, and have witnessed the "JOOSH KHROOSH" of celebrations as a ordinary public.
According to my personel assesment ,decorations of shops, homes of general public and Govt buildings were average
.Nothing to mention.
Quetta being a small city and having NO entertaiment places for families was facing traffic congestion problem ,which was doubled.
The young lot who have nothing else to do were driving carelessly and were trying to attract others (normal) were active for 13th eveing and 14th August.

I am sure most will agree ,what i have seen .Now the other side ,Bombing activities in different part of Baloochistan
needs serious thoughts............

The distubed areas are not only related to balooch tribes but to Pukhtoons also(comparatively less).

It is high time for the fedral Govt to take all the main politicals parties in to confidence ,so 14TH August celebrations are celebrated in true manner.

Lets Again Pray To Allah for stable and prosprus Pakistan

Pakistan Zindabad

Pakitanis Should change the Celebration activities on 14Th August

I suggest that Govt should think seriously to celebrate specially Independence Day by doing productive activities rather than ,declaring holiday and then spending time in activities which are less productive.
It will be far better if all the pakistanis decide to work and earn or produce minimum one Dollar on this day .
We can discuss in details the rest ,how?

there are 1000 ways to earn one dollar by every one rather than wasting time and having full day holiday .
just think ,loss of industry.Food for thought

Oh yeah. If these incidents would have occurred in India, there would have been breast beating by many pakistanis including this forum about how minorities in india are tortured, how these freedom fighters need moral, diplomatic and military support etc. Why the rule of Brahmins should be removed etc. etc.

However, how come we have never heard such incidents in our paper. If pakistanis had not even heard of these incidents, then pakistanis should appreciate india whwere a single death in Kashmir is reproduced in india nespapers and transmitted freely to foreign newsagency.

the Baloch have every right to demand more and more Autonomy -- and a share of their locally generated national wealth -- but a separate State -- or going over to Balochi Iran -- they are self mutilating impossible extremist dreams -- just like the ones for the Muslim Valley of Indian Kashmir.....

violence is no answer to anything....

Thanks waja Nizamani for your great article about Balochistan.

I wish General Mush practice what he preaches. He goes around the world teaches about looking at the root causes of the problems and when he comes to Balochistan, he talks about hitting us very hard that we wouldn`t know what is hitting us. Is that what he calls the democracy? Is that what he means by holding talks and solving the problems?

I agree with nasah29 " violence is no answer to anything " ,but what's the answer when they kidnap the young students and torture them?

What's the answer to these pictures?

There is a dichotomy in State's policies towards federating units of Pakistan. Its not unique in anyway as this discrimination is found even in highly developed nations. For example, what happened in New Orleans this week is evident of such discrimination. Lots of African American died due to two main reasons. Number one was those who died or are marooned did not have cars of their own and second many of them could not afford gasoline prices to move out and hence they stayed on taking the risk that the hurricane may not be that deadly. However, the apathy of State in USA showed up with late intervention of administrative help required in the region and the policy of 'shoot to kill' is self-explanatory.
Balochistan and Sindh are the two federating units of Pakistan who have been discriminated against since the day one of the independence. The hatred of these two people on such occasions gets translated in many ways. Bombing, being one method to regiter protest, most people in these two provinces stay indoors and do not cherish the legacy of the day as it brought no such thing they wanted.
What to talk about Musharraf? He and the entire machinery he commands have yet to learn what are the obligations of Federal Gvernment towards its Federating Units. The chances are they he wont hence bombs are blown.
